According to my new book 'how carrots won the Trojan war', some Arabian dude named Ziryab is credited with introducing the Spaniards to asparagus, my favorite vegetable of all time, but also to tablecloths, toothpaste, crystal wine glasses, ending meals with dessert, and bangs. Seriously!?!? I owe my life to this man... He is the original spreader of all of my favorite things. Ziryab Goldfried just may need to happen someday...
